How I made the mattress to fit the hanging bed

I couldn't find a mattress that would fit the

bed swing that wasn't too thick. So here's what we did.

I'd bought a queen sized, four inch thick, memory foam mattress from Costco years ago.
It wouldn't fit properly on the murphy bed my sweetie made a few years back so I cut it in half for camping, (great idea by the by.) So when we started making THIS, I measured the bed but I didn't know at the time he was gonna be bringing the ropes up through the bed so it's squeezed in now. Take that into consideration. Then we, (he, I'm not allowed to have sharp objects,) sliced the excess off with one of those huge razor knife things. I hot glued the two pieces together .

I went online and found an awesome fabric store. Here's a link to the Fabric store I used I ordered marine grade vinyl with a fuzzy back, (that's not what they call it but whatever,) and ordered 5 yards @ $1.99 a yard. (I paid as much in shipping as I did on the fabric.)

The foam is all dirty from camping

Me with my best buddy the hot glue gun. I couldn't find my large one, I'm concerned that because I didn't use the hot hot hot glue it won't hold but we shall see.

We, (he,) cut the remaining mattress and stacked the two pieces together to make a nice pillow.
I wanted a headboard but didn't realize it till we, (he,) were nearly done building the bed.
I had just enough left over vinyl to wrap around the piece of mattress.

I brilliantly thought this up. The pillow would have slipped off if I leaned on it so I used a piece of that stuff used to keep the rugs from moving and glued it on the bottom, worked like a dream.

Why I don't have a picture of just the mattress is beyond me,
I think I was so excited to get the bedding on I forgot.
(I'm too lazy to do it now.)

Because the bed is extra long, (I wanted enough space to set my laptop on,)
I only needed to squeeze the top of the mattress between the ropes.

I made a Hula Hoop mosquito net with tule and a string of star lights

Some silk flowers I found garage shopping, (I find some majorly cool shit in my garage,) Oh I also found a beautiful blue mosquito net that I apparently bought??? So now I have a double net, mosquitos will NEVER get to me :)

Here's a link to the page that inspired me, http://handmaidtales.com/tag/diy-kids-play-tent/. I used hot glue, a Hula Hoop and tule 'cause that's what I had in the garage. So Voilà there ya have it.
